Overview
The Maldives is an Indian Ocean archipelago of coral atolls, known for turquoise lagoons, luxury resorts and world-class snorkelling and diving.
Good for
Ideal for honeymoons, celebrations and pure relaxation — with easy resort transfers, private beaches and exceptional marine life.
November to April (dry season). May to October is wetter but often quieter and better value.
Tropical year-round. Dry season brings calm seas and sunny days; wet season has brief showers and stronger breezes.
Islam is the state religion — dress modestly on local islands. Resort islands are relaxed, but respectful behaviour is expected.
Fresh tuna, coconut and rice dishes. Resorts offer international dining; local islands serve Maldivian curries and grilled seafood.
